18 Arrested in Sex Trafficking Sting

The Amarillo Police Department has arrested 18 men and women in a sex trafficking and human exploitation sting this past weekend.

Undercover officers identified the suspects online and made the arrests for solicitation of prostitution and other charges.

Three arrests were for solicitation of a minor.

According to the U.S. Department of Helth and Human Services, the average age of a teen that enters the sex trade is 12 to 14 years of age.
