Amarillo Murder Suspect Caught In Childress

Amarillo Police at 4:27pm on Wednesday were dispatched to a shooting at The Larsson-Historic Apartments at SW 7th Avenue and Austin Street. Upon arrival, officers found that Anthony Dewayne Dunn, a 40 year-old male had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead by emergency medical services. The suspect fled the scene on foot and was identified as 25 year-old Keon Trashone Mathis. Thursday morning, Mathis was apprehended during a traffic stop by the Childress Police Department.
