Amarillo SWAT Called Out After Burglary Suspect Locks Himself In Apartment

One man is behind bars after a swat situation at an apartment complex.

On Thursday, December 5th, Amarillo Police responded to 6501 Woodward on a possible burglary in progress.

Once on scene, police learned a resident came home and found the suspect inside and locked himself in one of the rooms refusing to come out when police came.

At 10:21 pm, the APD Critical Incident Response Team was sent out, and after several more attempts to communicate, Swat deployed a chemical agent into that room causing ht suspect to leave.

26-year-old Moses Rico was arrested and booked into the Potter County jail for Criminal Trespass of a Habitation, Evading arrest or detention, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
