Anxiety In Youth Conference To Take Place Tuesday Afternoon.
With 1 in 4 teens suffering and dealing with anxiety in the United States, local professionals are doing their part to help them go through it.
The Anxiety In Youth event taking place in Amarillo Tuesday will help focus on the younger generations’ struggles with anxiety and mental health issues.
A screening of the national document Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety will be shown.
The event takes place today, Tuesday, October 15th from 4-6:30 pm at the Amarillo College Downtown Campus and is free to the public.
A panel discussion and audience Q & A follows the film featuring these experts:
Amanda Mathias, senior director of innovation for the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute with 20+ years of experience in community social services and community mental health.
Celeste Sophi Ramirez, Amarillo College student.
Laura Street, local civic leader and immediate past executive director of the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, will moderate the
panel.
