Borger Man Arrested, Jailed For Weekend Murder

Police in Borger dealing with a Sunday shooting that left one person dead.

Borger Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Lee Street on an injury call.

When they arrived at the scene, police discovered a person suffering a gunshot wound, later determined to be the result of an altercation. That victim was transported to a hospital in Amarillo via Borger EMS helicopter where that unidentified person later died.

36-year-old Victor Manuel Sainz of Borger was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked into the Hutchinson County Jail.

Borger PD Criminal Investigations Division, Hutchinson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Rangers are investigating that shooting.
