Borger Shooting Victim Identified

The Borger Police department, it has released the identity of the person killed in last week’s shooting as 30-year-old Mark Jesus Gutierrez of Borger.

Gutierrez was discovered Sunday, August 18, when officers were called to a location on Lee Street. He had apparently been involved in an altercation, during which he sustained a gunshot wound. 

He was flown to a hospital in Amarillo, where he died from his injuries.

36-year-old Victor Manuel Sainz, also of Borger was identified as the suspect in that shooting. He has since been arrested and booked into the Hutchinson County Jail.
