The holiday season officially opens Friday night with the kick-off of the Hawaiian-themed Christmas electric light parade.

The electric light parade will roll through downtown Amarillo on Polk Street from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Beth Duke, Executive Director of Center City Amarillo says “This year our theme is Hawaiian Christmas, we decided to really challenge the tradition and go for a different theme.

In the past several years the parade has been canceled due to Covid 19 and weather, but this year’s extravaganza is expected to bring out revelers with Hawaiian-themed floats, and gaily, colored Hawaiian shirts.

Duke says There is a lot of excitement surrounding this year’s parade.
