Former Whitharral Coach Faces Charges for Sexual Relationship With Student

A former teacher and basketball coach with the Whitharral Independent School District has accepted a plea deal with federal prosecutors.   

Gregory Austin Flores agreed to plead guilty to attempting to transmit personal information of a 15-year-old student who he was allegedly having a sexual relationship with.

Flores may receive a prison sentence up to five years and a fine up to $250,000.

He also faces charges for an inappropriate relationship between an educator and a student.

If convicted he could spend an additional 20 years in prison.
