Dress up your pets for the fourth annual Patriotic Pet Parade this year.

Center City of Amarillo will sponsor the fourth annual Patriotic Pet Parade at 1000 South Polk Street on Saturday, June 29th.

Ruckus, the beloved mascot of the Sod Poodles, will be Grand Marshal for the parade this year.

Registration for the Pet Parade will begin at 9 am at 1000 South Polk Street, Historic Bivins Home. The registration fee is $5 per pet.

Pets will begin lining up at the start at 9:30 am, and the parade itself will start at 10 am.

The event will take place on the grounds of the historic Bivins home at 1000 South Polk Street between 10th Avenue and 11th Avenue. All dogs must be on a leash. Parking is available on the Santa Fe Building parking lots at 9th Avenue and Polk Street.

The event’s prize categories will include Most Patriotic or Best Costume, Most Talented, Waggiest Tail, Best Smile, Owner and Pet Look-Alike, and, of course, Best in Show.

The Amarillo Association of Realtors sponsors the 2024 Patriotic Pet Parade. The city of Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare will provide free microchipping for 100 pets and information about adoption. Cadence Canine Creations will have a vendor booth with pet treats.

David Lovejoy of KGNC Radio and The Chat on 710 AM and 97.9 KGNC FM will emcee the Patriotic Pet Parade. Lindsey Stiner and Shelden Brashears of NewsChannel 10 Amarillo will be celebrity judges.
