The Guymon Swift Water team responded to assist locals after flooding hit the town.

Six fire units from Guymon deployed throughout the town. The team used boats to respond to areas with deep, dangerous or fast-moving water.

Guymon Firefighters, Guymon Police Officers, Texas County Deputies and the Guymon Street Department personnel rescued around 50 to 60 people in the early morning hours of June 19.

The Guymon Swift Water team rescued 24 people, several pets and three horses from eight locations.

As of June 20, officials say water rescues and assistance are still ongoing.

During times of flooding, it is important to remember things, like get to higher ground, obey evacuation orders from officials and, Do not drive into flooded roadways or around barricades.
