Center City of Amarillo announced there will not be a High Noon on the Square event this Wednesday.

The Potter County Courthouse will be closed for the Juneteenth holiday.

Beth Duke, executive director of Center City says, “On Juneteenth, Center City will not have a High Noon event. Instead, we encourage the community to attend the dedication of a Texas Historical Marker honoring pioneer cowboy Bones Hooks.”

The Potter County Historical Commission and the North Heights Advisory Association will sponsor the an event to honor Matthew ‘Bones’ Hooks at the park named after him at 2000 North Hughes Street.

High Noon on the Square will resume on June 26, with The Huckleberries performing and Crush catering lunch. The event is free and lunch will be available for $10.
