Texas Representative Ronny Jackson (TX-13) last week introduced legislation to rename the U.S. Post Office in Downtown Amarillo after one of our city’s most known philanthropists.

Jackson submitted the building be renamed the “Mayor Jerry H. Hodge Post Office Building” to honor the life and legacy of Jerry Hodge, who passed away July 25 at the age of 81.

Jackson said Hodge’s legacy “is a testament to his remarkable journey.”

That journey included being a businessman, politician, rancher, author and philanthropist.
