Law Enforcment On High Alert For Sex Offenders During Halloween
City and County Law Enforcement Agencies will be taking steps to ensure a safe Halloween for all.
The community supervision and corrections department has run their lights out program on Halloween for 12 years to make sure registered sex offenders do not participate in the festivities.
Offenders can not have any Halloween decorations out or anything to try and attract children to their house and authorities will be driving by to make sure they don’t have porch lights on as well.
Surrounding counties will also be patrolling areas where they know registered sex offenders live, making sure there are not any violations happening.
The Department of Public Safety has a website so you can find the sex offenders in your area. provided by DPS.
