Local Teacher Among Finalists For Texas Elementary Teacher Of The Year

In July, Kristi Leff was named by the Region 16 Education Service Center as its recipient of the 2025 Elementary School Teacher of the Year award.

Leff is now among three finalists for the 2025 Texas Elementary Teacher of the Year. Those finalists will be interviewed by a panel of judges October 24. That winner will go on to represent Texas in the National Teacher of the Year program.

Winners will be announced Oct. 25 at a ceremony in Round Rock, Texas.

Leff teaches fifth grade science and English/Language arts at Humphrey’s Highland Elementary where she has taught since 2015.
