Amarillo’s Medi-park will soon be easier to access for all recreationists.

A proposed fishing dock will improve adaptable access, improving on ADA access, as well as safe and low maintenance access for fishermen.

 Funded by the City of Amarillo, it’ll cost taxpayers, $24,663 with the majority being funded by a  Texas Parks and Wildlife grant to the tune of $53-000, bringing the total cost to $77, 683.

City officials say the new fishing dock is well worth it, based on the number of [people who have been using the park’s lake, 

An ADA-accessible gangway, handrails, bench seating, solar power lighting and a future kayak launch. are also in the plans.

The City of Amarillo will be constantly monitoring to make sure the dock stays in good condition and observe usage patterns.
