Last week we dealt with patience. This week we’re going into how to build patience and mental toughness.

There are ten things you can do to increase your mental fortitude. Pay attention to your goals,

Have a strong mental drive to stay ahead of your competition.

Concentrate on excellence, and do not be distracted by other people and athletes.

Shrug off your failures, and rebound from defeat. Above all else, do not beat yourself up.

Celebrate wins and analyze reasons for success.

Stay confident in your abilities, and remember you must be patient.

You have to build your habits for them to work for you.  Thesis can take months or even years to build, not days

As you can tell from the list, mental toughness doesn’t mysteriously appear on race days to the lucky few. Practice these points and you will find mental toughness and patience play hand in hand to help each other.
