More Headaches Ahead For I-40 Travelers

If you depend on I-40 as part of your daily travel routine, be prepared for additional delays.

TxDOT says you can expect lane and ramp closures beginning Monday as crews continue bridge and other work. 

Starting Monday, I-40 eastbound will be closed over Tyler and Harrison Streets for bridge work. This includes the closure of the Washington Street off ramp from eastbound I-40.

TxDOT says they expect that work to be completed by Wednesday.

Other closures include eastbound I-40 at the BNSF Railyard, causing the closing of southbound US-287 to the eastbound I-40 entrance ramp, and northbound I-27 to the eastbound I-40 entrance ramp.

Officials say that work is expected to be completed by Aug. 30.
