New digs await high school students in Bushland this August.

The new Bushland High School will offer roughly 30,000 square feet of additional space compared to the soon-to-be former high school.

Increasing population in the Bushland area was creating a decrease in classroom and other needed space.

According to principal Kristi Culpepper, the new facility features two stories of modern space and updated technology, along with a competition gym that will allow BHS to host games outside of its own.

The new auditorium will double the seating capacity of the former high school.

Bushland ISD Superintendent Chris Wigington hopes the new school attracts more residents to be part of what the district and the community is doing.
