As the sports year winds down around the Panhandle, now is the time of year when the very best have a chance to be honored alongside some of the best that the Panhandle and beyond has ever seen.

This year’s Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame Ceremony will be on Sunday, June 9th, inside the Amarillo Civic Center Grand Plaza, with a who’s who of Panhandle greats who have changed sports in their own ways.

Along with the incoming class of 2024, consisting of NFL Hall of Famer Zach Thomas and newly retired Randall High Basketball Coach Leslie Broadhurst to name a couple, there will also be awards given out to the best coaches and players from both high school and college, as we put a bow to an amazing year of sports in the community.

The festivities will begin at 2 pm on the 9th, with free admission to the public as well as refreshments both before and after the ceremony.
