Potter County Sheriff’s Office Warns Of Phone Scam
September 11, 2019 12:18AM CDT
The Potter County Sheriff’s Office is alerting the public of a phone scam.
The scammer is calling residents from the number (806) 553-2267, and are claiming to be Potter County Constable Mike Duval.
They then tell the victims to purchase a MoneyPak Green Dot prepaid debit card to pay for warrants.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds residents that no law enforcement agency ever asks for money over the phone and will definitely not ever ask anyone to purchase a green dot card to pay fines with.
Anyone that receives a call similar to this is advised to hang up the phone and block the number.
