Round Rock Classic Schedule Announced

Red Raiders set to face Tennessee, Stanford and Houston Feb. 21-23 at Dell Diamond.

LUBBOCK, Texas – The schedule for the 2020 Round Rock Classic has been announced, which features three Texas Tech games on February 21-23, at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas.

The Red Raiders will face Tennessee on Friday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m., followed by Stanford on Saturday at 6 p.m., before wrapping up with former Southwest Conference foe Houston on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Advanced tickets for the 2020 Round Rock Classic are available now at Tickets start as low as $10 for a general admission day pass and $25 for the general admission weekend pass. Reserved tickets, club seating, suites and group spaces are also available. For every ticket sold, $1 will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Tadlock’s squad has been a regular at some of the nation’s premier neutral-site tournaments across the state of Texas. The Red Raiders took part in the Shriners Classic in Houston in 2014, 2016 and 2017 and played at the Frisco Classic last season.

Tech is 1-0 all-time against Tennessee, taking a 7-3 victory at the Minute Maid Classic in 2008. Future pro Nate Karns earned his first career win as he logged five strong innings. The Vols went 40-21 last season with a 14-16 mark in the Southeastern Conference. They were the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional, where they fell in the regional final to North Carolina.

The Red Raiders are 1-2 all-time against Stanford, facing the Cardinal three times in the 1995 NCAA Midwest I Regional in Wichita, Kan. The Red Raiders topped the Cardinal in their first meeting to move a game away from the Regional title, but dropped two-straight one-run battles. Stanford went 45-14 last season, finishing second in the Pac-12 at 22-7. They won the NCAA Stanford Regional before falling at No. 3 Mississippi State in the Super Regional round.

Tech last squared off with the Cougars in 2016 with the Red Raiders claiming a 3-2 victory at the Shriners Classic. The two teams have met 11 times on a neutral field with Houston holding a 6-5 edge. Tech and Houston met in Round Rock in 2002 and have played 10 of the last 13 meetings at a neutral site dating back to 2001. The Cougars went 32-24 last season, including 12-12 in the American Conference.
