Three Vehicle Wreck Claims One Life

A multiple-vehicle collision has claimed a life.

At 1 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a crash involving multiple vehicles at the intersection of Southeast 3rd Avenue and South Buchanan Street.

42-year-old Heather Renee Garcia was eastbound on Southeast 3rd. She ran the red light and was hit by a black Toyota Tundra and a gray Honda Passport that were northbound on Buchanan Street.

Her van flipped over and then hit a tree.

Garcia was killed and the drivers of the Tundra and Passport were uninjured.

This crash is being handled by the Traffic Investigations Unit of the Amarillo Police Department.
