Two men are behind bars after a traffic stop turns up drugs.

Saturday afternoon at 4:42 p.m., A  Hutchinson County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled over a Mercedes for a defective tail light in Borger off of Main Street.

After a driver’s license check, it was discovered that the 18-year-old driver, had multiple warrants out of the city of Borger.

The 25-year-old passenger was acting suspicious and was asked to step out of the car and then attempted to run away, but a resident was able to stop him and help the deputy detain him until backup arrived.

Authorities say the passenger admitted that he ran because he had cocaine and meth on him that was intended to be sold in the community.

The 25-year-old was booked into the Hutchinson County Jail for manufacture delivery controlled substance, evading arrest detention, resisting arrest search or transport, and tampering with physical evidence with intent to impair.

The 18-year-old was transported to the Borger Jail for his warrants.

The Hutchinson County Sheriff’s Office thanked the unnamed local citizen for his assistance saying your actions were greatly appreciated.
