Two In Custody Following Mail Theft Investigation
The efforts of multiple agencies resulted in the arrests of two people in connection with postal box and mail thefts.
The Postal Inspector contacted PACE officers with information about an increase in post office box burglaries.
The Potter County Sheriff’s Office was able to identify two suspects and their vehicle in video taken by detectives.
The two suspects were subsequently traced to a home on Preston Street new SW 46th Avenue. When the two arrived at the residence, a traffic stop was conducted.
39-year-old Tiffany Hickman and 25-year-old Quentin Buetow were found with a makeshift postal master key, commonly used to open post office boxes. Buetow also had was is described as suspected methamphetamine on his person.
Their care also contained a number of stolen packages and mail inside of it.
The Preston Street residence also contained stolen mail, forged checks, stolen credit cards, IDs, property boxes, and four pistols taken in a storage unit theft.
Both Hickman and Buetow were booked into the Randall County Jail. Both are also suspected of involvement in similar thefts in at least four cities.
