Two Nonprofits Receive Grants From Xcel Energy

Two nonprofits received a gift from Xcel Energy.

Amarillo’s Meals on Wheels and Isaiah’s Soup Kitchen in Hobbs, NM each received $5000.00 grants through Xcel’s 2024 Employee Choice Grant awards program.

The two recipients received the most votes from Xcel employees in Texas and New Mexico. 

The program expanded into Texas and New Mexico just last year, and now includes six states, providing almost $400,000 in grants since its inception in Colorado in 2015.

Locally, Meals on Wheels delivers hot meals to more than 350 homebound elderly and severely disabled residents.

Isaiah’s Soup Kitchen delivers hot meals and food boxes to food insecure residents of Hobbs, NM.
