Jones said he is not ruling out receiver Michael Gallup returning after missing the previous two games with a knee issue. The Cowboys are 3-and-1 after losing Sunday night in New Orleans.

Houston will try to bounce back from a 16-10 home loss to the Carolina Panthers. Houston is 2-and-2, while Atlanta is 1-and-3. The Texans signed former Seahawks offensive tackle Elijah Nkansah to the practice squad.
Nats Rally Past Brewers With Three-Run Eighth
(Washington, DC) — The Nationals scored three times in the eighth inning to rally past the Brewers 4-3 in the National League wild card game in D.C. Juan Soto lined a single with the bases loaded to plate two and the go-ahead run scored on an error in right. The Nats advanced in the postseason since moving to D.C. They play the Dodgers in the NLDS starting tomorrow.

(Houston, TX) — The Astros are in a holding pattern. They will face the winner of the Rays and Athletics AL wild card game today in Oakland in the ALDS. That series will open Friday in Houston. Houston will take a major league-best 107-and-55 record into the postseason.
Stars Will Have Experienced Squad, Open Season Tomorrow
(Dallas, TX) — The Stars will drop the puck on their NHL season tomorrow night hosting the Boston Bruins, who advanced to the Stanley Cup finals last season. The Dallas roster entering the season has a combined 10,100 regular-season games. Corey Perry is the most experienced, just 12 games shy of 1,000. Dallas finished last season with 93 points and was ousted in the second round of the playoffs by eventual champion St. Louis in a seven-game series, losing 2-1 in the second overtime in the finale.
Mavs Open Camp Healthy
(Dallas, TX) — The Mavericks opened training camp with three players coming off major injuries having no limitations in the initial practice. They are Kristaps Porzingis, knee surgery, J.J. Barea, ruptured Achilles, and Tim Hardaway Jr., left tibia surgery. Only Deion Wright, who has a hamstring issue, was restricted. Training camp will conclude on Sunday with an open practice free to the public at American Airlines Center. Dallas will tip off its preseason schedule on October 8th against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Tulsa.
Rockets To Face Clippers Tomorrow
(Honolulu, HI) — The Rockets will play the Clippers tomorrow night in Honolulu in a preseason tilt. Houston thrashed the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association 140-71 Monday at Toyota Center in its exhibition opener. The Rockets will play two games in Japan next week against the Raptors at Saitama Stadium.

San Jose is a point behind Dallas with 44, while the Colorado Rapids have 42. Dallas is a point behind Portland. Kansas City has been eliminated from playoff contention.

Former A&M All-American Ed Simonini Dies
(Undated) — Former Texas A&M All-American linebacker Ed Simonini died of cancer on Tuesday. He was 65. Simonini was a 1975 unanimous All-American and was named to the Southwest Conference all-decade team for the 1970s. The Baltimore Colts drafted him in the third round in 1976. He played seven years in the NFL and led the Colts in tackles for four seasons.
