Woman Sentenced On Embezzlement Charges
A former employee of an Amarillo non-profit has been sentenced for embezzlement.
On Wednesday, May 1, 2019, The Amarillo Police Department was called to the offices of Window on a Wider World, an arts education-based nonprofit located at 500 South Buchanan, to take a report.
The complainant told the officer that a former employee, 43 year old Bonnie Kellogg had possibly stolen a large amount of money from the business over several years
After an investigation a warrant was issued and on July 31 Kellogg turned herself in at the Potter County Detention Center and faced two charges.
One for theft of property greater than $30,000 and less than $150,000, and a second for theft of property greater than $150,000 and less than $300,000.
Kellogg had embezzled more than $1 million dollars from the organization between 2009 and 2018.
She is now serving 30 days in the Potter County Jail to be followed by 10 years of probated prison time and a $10,000 fine for each of two charges of theft.
