High school seniors, Amarillo College and West Texas A&M University students are facing problems.

The goal of the FAFSA aid program was to be quicker and more efficient while allowing a larger number of students and families to qualify for aid, but for many there have been completion errors, causing delays to the system.

The new applications were set to begin in October 2022 but did not roll out to universities until late March to early April, causing the program to come to a halt.

Still,  WT and AC have found ways to help students until FAFSA complications have been sorted out.

WT has offered financial aid students their packages in advance to help curb those worries, even at the cost of over-rewarding.
