According to a release from the WTAMU campus, shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to the Natural Science Building located on 4th avenue on a report of the building being struck by a vehicle.

The driver of that vehicle, a 26 year old woman, told officers she was traveling south on 26th street. After turning right onto 4th avenue, the steering of her 2018 Jeep Wrangler malfunctioned. The woman panicked, putting her foot on the accelerator instead of the brake.

She and her female passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The building sustained minor damage.
