West Texas A&M University is making it a little easier for firefighters to advance their education, and possibly their career in the way of tuition fee waivers.

The university announced Monday it is now offering assistance for tuition and lab fees for its Master of Public Administration program. This is being made possible by a state program that allows colleges and universities the option to offer assistance to active-duty firefighters.

Priority application deadline is March 15. The final deadline is July 1.

A firefighter might consider the pursuit of an MPA for the skills needed for promotions into administrative positions.
