1 Dead After Wreck On I-40

A California woman has died after a wreck East of Amarillo.
At 12:30 early Thursday morning a semi-trailer on I-40 was disabled on the side of the road from a previous crash and its trailer was partially in the eastbound lane when 45-year-old Erica James failed to control her speed and struck the trailer.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by Carson County Justice of the Peace, Jean Hardman.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
