A Hall County woman was sentenced to 20 years in prison for stealing a “significant” amount of money from an elderly victim.

Roshanda Pierson, 43, from Memphis, Texas, was sentenced after violating the terms of her probation.

“It is disgusting behavior, and we are proud to say that this defendant won’t have the opportunity to do it again for a couple of decades,” said Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District.

Pierson was originally convicted of engaging in organized criminal activity. and placed on probation on May 22, 2023.

But prosecutors filed a motion just 5 months later asking the court to revoke it.

At the hearing, Pierson admitted to violating two conditions of her probation.

Her probation officer testified Pierson only reported to the probation office one time in five months.

Pierson will be required to serve 10 years of the sentence before she is eligible for parole.
