Governor Greg Abbott has appointed three persons to the Texas Optometry Board.  

Doctor John Todd Cornett, and Doctor Meghan Schutte, and re-appointee Judy Chambers will work on the Board that oversees licensing and regulation of optometrists.  

 

Cornett of Amarillo, is a partner in Premier Vision Service and also a member of the American Optometric Association.  Currently, he is Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Great Cities Mission.

 

Schutte of Austin, is an optometrist at North West Hills Eye Care and practices Theraputic optometry with a focus on low vision services and specialty contact lenses. Schutte also volunteers her time for the VSP – Eyes of Hope and The Lions Club programs.

 

Chambers, of Austin, recently retired from the position of executive director Dress for Success Austin and currently volunteers with the International Philanthropic  Organization.

 

Their terms are set to expire January 31,  2025.
