Abbott: No Economic Shutdown Over COVID Cases

Another economic shutdown is not expected in Texas.

Governor Greg Abbott told reporters today he does not believe it’s worth issuing another stay at home order over coronavirus because it won’t work.

The governor cited rising cases in California and said the virus spreads faster in a home setting.

Abbott says the major problem is making sure the hospital system isn’t overwhelmed but is confident the vaccine will help keep that from happening.

The White House Coronavirus Task Force has recommended the state enact more restrictions due to rising virus cases.
