The City of Amarillo has announced free transportation will be provided to shelter locations in anticipation of of the cold weather expected in the next few days.

Amarillo City Transit (ACT) will provide rides to shelters to those seeking a safe place to stay warm.

Riders need only inform the driver they are seeking a ride to a shelter to be driven there at no charge.

Those centers include the Guyon Saunders Resource Center, Faith City Mission, the Salvation Army and the Code Blue Warming Station.

This special service will be available from 6:20 am to 7 pm Monday through Saturday.
