AEDC Hosts 2022 State of the Economy

The Amarillo Economic Development Corporation held their annual State of the Economy Wednesday afternoon showcasing the growth Amarillo saw in 2021.
In 2021, Amarillo saw $91.9 million in Sales Tax Collection and $8.7 million in Hotel/Motel Tax Collection and had a 20 month continuous growth.
The Amarillo EDC helped bring in $16 million in investment, with $201 million in project capital investments, and brought in 930 new jobs.
In the last 10 years, The AEDC investments add up to $146 million in investments.

Some of the big projects that have made their way to the area include Amazon which will bring in 500 new jobs, $13.5 million in projected payroll and $100 million in capital investments.
Casique Food Processing and Distribution Industry which will bring in 200 jobs, $9 million in projected payroll and a Total Capital Investment of $88 million.
The north Heights Linen Service which will provide 100 new jobs, $5 million in projected payroll and $3 million in Total Capital Investment
