Amarillo City Council Celebrates Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. With A Proclamation

The Amarillo City Council made a proclamation in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

President of the Amarillo Branch of the NAACP Floyd Anthony about the Proclamation.


Monday, January 20th will now be known as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Mr. Anthony about how the community can help celebrate Dr Kings birthday.

Everyone is invited to the Charles E. Warford Activity Center to help pick up and clean up the city from 9-11:30 am.

From 12 – 3 pm, lunch will be served and everyone will be able to visit 30 plus vendors for GED and THRIVE Education, housing and Voter Registration.

And from 4-6 pm 79109 Matters will be at the Black Historical Cultural Center to talk about issues that are important to the community.
