On August 31st, the Amarillo College Board of Regents approved a 3% pay raise for all full-time faculty and full- and part-time staff for 2023.
This conversation also brings up the minimum wage to $15 per hour, which will be implemented later this year.
Current employees under this threshold will be raised to the new minimum, lifting the wage of over 170 workers.
There will also be inflationary relief payments that are planned to be given out in November.
The plan for raises comes about to keep AC employment competitive, and to retain employees as prices continue to rise.
