Amarillo Councilwoman Elaine Hays Forming Exploratory Committee For The 13th Congressional District

Amarillo Councilwoman Elaine Hays has announced she will be forming an exploratory committee to run for the 13th congressional district.

Councilwoman Hays says “I want to thank Congressman Mac Thornberry for his years of public service to the people of the 13th district.  I wish him and his family well. After much prayer and reflection, and with encouragement from my family, friends, and neighbors, I have decided to explore running for Congress in the 13th district. We need to send someone to Washington who will fight for life, liberty, term limits, a balanced budget, and secure borders.  We also need someone who will stand up to the far left in Congress and will fight for the conservative values of the 13th district”

Hays has lived in Amarillo since 1985 and is a small business owner with a B.B.A. in Marketing from Texas Christian University and a Master’s degree in Finance and Economics from West Texas A&M University.

She was also a big part in the Buy The Way Campaign to help increase local sales tax revenue.
