The Amarillo ISD is pulling out of the Harrington Library Consortium.

The HLC is a group of 87 libraries around the Panhandle that provide other clients with books and electronic information, making it a borrowing system.

The Amarillo schools chose to pull out of the consortium because of state requirements and AISD’s Electronic catalog system through the Harrington Library Consortium is no longer able to service the needs of the district.

HLC library patrons have access to about 9,000 e-books and audiobook titles through the cloud library.

Amarillo students will still be able to use the HLC
