Amarillo Man Killed In Accident In Montague County

A  wreck on Highway 287 in Montague County has claimed the life of an Amarillo man.

The Department of Public Safety says that 66-year-old Tony Ray Clem of Amarillo was driving a 2001 Ford SUV north on 287 when, for unknown reasons, he left the roadway, entered the center median and hit a concrete bridge structure.

 The SUV became engulfed by fire from the collision.

Clem was pronounced dead at the scene by the local Justice of the Peace and the DPS  is still investigating the crash.
