A Potter County jury has found Matthew Hubbell guilty of killing his mother and keeping the body for four days before police arrested him.

In 2019, Amarillo police arrested Hubbell after tracking him down to a South Monroe Street home.

He had barricaded himself in the house before police coaxed him out.

A search warrant shows that the man informed a friend he kept the body in a bathtub and used chemical agents to keep the smell down while deciding what to do with it.

Police eventually found the body under the home’s crawl space.

Hubbell has been sentenced to 99 years in jail with a 10-thousand dollar fine.
