Amarillo Police were called to Amarillo Boulevard and Eastern at 9 p.m. Wednesday, over a hit-and-run incident, killing a woman in the process.

It has been reported that the driver in question was traveling down the boulevard going westbound and noticed they had driven over something after changing lanes into the turning lane.

After looking and seeing the woman, 55-year-old Angela Ramirez, the driver immediately dialed 911.

After police arrived, evidence was found of a white vehicle on the scene of the incident, and has since been determined that the white vehicle struck Ramirez first and fled the scene.

This incident is still under investigation by APD’s Traffic Investigation Unit, and if you have any information on this investigation, call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 806-374-4400.

All reports will be left anonymous, with a cash reward available should it lead to an arrest.
