Amazon One Step Closure To Future In Amarillo

The Amazon Tax Abatement issue has been approved.
Potter County Commissioners approved the abatement on a five to zero vote to entice the Amazon fulfillment center to the High Plains.
Kevin Carter of the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation says the Company will announce its decision whether it’ll move to Amarillo in the spring of this year.
If the fulfillment center is brought to the area it could lead up to the creation of up to 500 full-time employees and an annual payroll of 13.5 million dollars.
The cost for the project is an estimated $100 million, $70 million in facility improvements and $30 million for equipment.
This facility would be the first of its kind in West Texas and would help Amazon service its customers in our region with large item orders.
