Amazon Smile

After ten years, Amazon ended its Amazon Smile program.

The program ended officially on Monday. The program’s end will have a definite impact on nonprofits in the Panhandle.

If you bought an item through Amazon Smile. point 5 percent of the sale would be donated to a charity or nonprofit of your choice.

According to Amazon, over 400 million have been donated to charities throughout the U.S.

In the Panhandle area, those affected the most are the nonprofits Gracies Project and the Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

Officials at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Amarillo and Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum say they won’t feel the loss, that much.
