APD Searching For Vehicle Involved In Hit-And-Run

One man is dead after a hit and run Monday night.
Amarillo Police Officers were near the 1400 block of Amarillo Boulevard East when they witnessed a 43-year-old Phillip James Messler who was laying in the road get struck by a vehicle traveling east and left the scene.
Messler was transported to a local hospital where he later died. The vehicle involved is a dark colored SUV with damage to the front end.
