The Barrio Neighborhood Planning Committee and Xcel Energy are teaming up for a massive cleanup in and around the Tri-State Fairgrounds.

The two-day event will have X-cel employees picking up trash and cutting weeds around the property as part of the company’s Day of Service where employees give back to the community.

Over 20 employees will participate.

On Friday, the clean-up starts at 9;00 a.m and goes until 1:00 p.m., and on Saturday, from until noon.

Volunteers should park closest to 10th and Grand and are asked to wear long pants and long sleeves and to bring bug spray and weed eaters.

BNPC will provide hand sanitizer, safety vests, trash bags, and plastic and leather gloves.
