Body of Missing Man Last Heard From in Amarillo Found in Clay County

A man who was last heard from in Amarillo on a cross country motorcycle trip was found dead on Thursday in Clay County.
Sixty-one-year-old Ronald Pierce Daniels was riding from Las Vegas to Florida when he went missing last week.
Daniels’ family claimed they last had contact with him when he was in Amarillo.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety Daniels was traveling south on US Highway 287 when his rear tire may have gone flat, causing the motorcycle to leave the roadway and crash into the center median.
Daniels’ body was discovered by a bridge surveyor while inspecting an overpass.
