The Borger Fire Department is showing off its brand new ladder truck that includes safety features for firefighters and reaches over 100 feet.

The previous ladder truck was from 2001 and went only 75 feet in the air, the new truck will add 30 feet of height when fighting fires and has the newest technology.

The new ladder truck was purchased over 2 years ago for almost $2 million.

The City of Borger issued debt to purchase the new ladder truck to be paid over time and says it did not raise the city’s tax rate.

Chief Mike  Galloway says that the ladder truck is in service and has been on numerous calls in the city of Borger.
