Canyon Commissioners Vote 4-1 For Tax Rate Increase

By a 4-to-1 vote, the Canyon City Commission Monday approved the proposed tax rate it says will add roughly 3.5 percent more money in the next tax year over the current one for operations, and debt.

Paul Lyons was the lone dissenting vote.

The final approval could come August 15th. A public hearing will be held before the final vote is taken.

If approved, the tax rate would increase from 39 cents to 41 cents per $100 of taxable value.
